Tool Random Video Player (v1.57) - The best way to view your insane collections of videos and images

humantrashpile Yeah, look at the bottom, there are three buttons: Videos, Images, Scriptfiles. Those toggle the corresponding file use. The same buttons are also to be found in the filebrowser and the listbrowser. The logic behind that change is, that it's more hasstle to select/deselect the extensions each time you just want to play specific types, so you can fine adjust the extensions and simply enable/disable the use of the selected ones with those buttons.

So to play videos and images, make sure both are enabled at the bottom, basically If scriptfiles is enabled, it will default use any video files that have a corresponding script only.

Just trying this out and I seem to be having issues where the seek bar randomly doesn't appear when opening the app up and any click towards where it should be just restarts the current video. Sometimes it's there but usually it's just a blank black bar. Also, when going fullscreen, instead of readjusting, I just have a giant pink block at the bottom. I'm doing this from a laptop through bootcamp and had to install .net to work the app so maybe some issues stem from there? If maybe I'm missing something just let me know.

There is a known issue where DPI scaling causes this weird behavior. Under windows changing the behavior can fix that:



Though this didn't seem to fix a similar issue for another user. Sadly I haven't found another solution so far :|

It's alright, I just hope whenever I get a new monitor this problem shouldn't exist cause RVP is pretty nice to use since I can customize my binds and shuffle videos and images together.

Well got my new monitor and the problem still existed until I tried this lmao

Doing this worked for some reason I don't think it matters with the program DPI but it works just fine on and off but it's mainly relying on the high dpi scaling setting and for me having it on System (enhanced) breaks the player for me but the regular system works perfectly fine and for whoever has the pink bar problem try messing with this setting.

I had the exact same problem and this fixed it.

I found another bug, the fullscreen is not "full". When I right click on one side of the screen to play the next video I'm clicking on what's underneath and the player minimizes.

Peanutccino, this is quite the snazzy player. I barely scratched the surface and I love it already. I foresee it will become my main and sole media player on my machine.

Your program is very useful but I've run into an issue. The only way to get the user interface to display properly on my 4K monitor is to change the compatibility settings. Doing so drastically reduces the quality of the video.

I couldn't recognize a drop in quality though, but it may be possible.

Here's what my settings look like. I've tried your combination and get the same reduction in video quality.

I used the print screen button for the above image quality comparison so it's like for like. Using a 4K video, the MPV screenshot is 8.9MB but the RVP screenshot is only 1.7MB. Zooming in on the RVP screenshot you can see how pixelated it is. That screenshot is an accurate representation of how the video player looks for me.

Yeah you're right. I've debugged mpv and saw, that it scales the render resolution down. With 150% it halves the output. Now I just have to find the fix for it
